June 19 2009 Rocket Launch : Estes Stormchaser launch, June 19 2009 near Kokomo High School softball fields, on an Estes E9-6 single use motor. Winds were gusty, and picked up at launch. The rocket just barely left visual range. Presumably at the ejection charge, the shock cord failed at the mount inside the body tube. The body tumbled and landed 1/3 mile from the launch site and landed in someone's front yard, undamaged. The nosecone and parachute drifted and landed 0.84 miles from the launch site, near an electrical substation.
