I've been into photography for as long as I can remember. I bought my first 'expensive' camera with money that I earned on my paper route in about 1990, a Pentax IQ Zoom 105. I'd call myself an advanced amateur.

I shot with various point-and-shoot digital cameras for a while, but found the shutter lag limiting. For me, the last straw was trying to capture my girls riding the carousel at the Indianapolis Children's Museum, which was virtually impossible.

Now I shoot Nikon DSLR.
